Sorry I haven't been to active on the blog as of yet. I was super pumped when I heard about the idea but somehow it sort of slipped to the back of my mind once we were actually supposed to start using it.
Doubtful anyone will read this before tonight's practice, but I'm still feeling a bit under the weather and will sit out for (hopefully) one more practice and then be good to go tomorrow. It's killing me not being able to play right now, I want to get to know the nubs so badly, let alone get back in playing shape.
Anyway, or is it anyways, I can never remember, I've read over all the posts you guys have put up here and I've seen some good shit. I do have one suggestion, though. I think instead of saying how we felt about our own performances, it could be more productive if our posts are intended more so to provide constructive criticism to each other. That being said, I think no matter which direction we take this puppy in, it can only be a good thing.
See you dudes tonight,
ZL
yea man your definitely right about writing more about other people, I've thought about it a lot but I find hard sometimes to pay attention to the players around you unless they throw to you, you throw to them, or you are marking up on each other. I think probably something to work on is being more aware of the rest of the players on the field in general. maybe that would help general field awareness?
ReplyDeletebummer you're still sick :(
I think that both are equally important, so perhaps people should make a point to write two parts: self-reflection and observations of other players. The best way to learn how to play better is through self-analysis and the analysis of others. Learn through other people's mistakes (what are they doing wrong, why did they do it wrong, why didn't it work?) as well as their successes (what are they doing right, how are they doing it, why is it working?)
ReplyDeleteThat being said, its still quite early in the season so I suggest focusing on yourselves first, then when people get settled into their new roles a little better, start the constructive criticism.
But that's just my two cents.
Addendum:
ReplyDeleteThe best way to learn how to play better is through self-analysis + the analysis of others *and comparing the two*.
